Diabetes Mellitus

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a type of chronic disease characterized by elevated levels of sugar in the blood as a result of disturbances in the body's metabolic system, where the pancreas unable to produce insulin as the body needs.   Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas that is responsible for controlling the amount of blood sugar levels and insulin needs to change (processed) carbohydrates, fats, and proteins into energy for the human body. Function of the hormone insulin to decrease the  blood sugar levels.
