Type 2 Diabetes

Type 2 diabetes or also called obesity related diabetes or Non Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus (NIDDM) can strike anyone regardless of age. Generally, the initial symptoms of type 2 diabetes can not be detected. In fact, one of three people with type 2 diabetes do not know if she was suffering from the disease.
Diabetes is a chronic condition when body's ability to convert food into energy become lower. These conditions increase blood sugar levels which in turn increases the risk of heart disease, blindness, and other serious complications. In the case of diabetes, the cells can not absorb glucose properly. This resulted in increased levels of glucose in the blood. Insulin resistance in the body makes insulin levels become excessive. However, excess insulin is not used by the muscles, liver, and fat cells.
