Diabetes Mellitus Type 1,
also called juvenile diabetes. Type of diabetes is
caused by a lack of insulin. And lack of insulin is
caused by damage to the pancreatic beta cells.This type
of diabetes usually occurs in adolescents under 25 years
old, but it can also happen to people who have
grown up.

Diabetes Mellitus Type 1 takes only a few weeks to develop. Early symptoms are:
a. Increased production of urine
b. Excessive thirst
c. Fatigue (because the glucose is not converted into energy)
d. Losing weight
e. Increased appetite
f. Feel sick
g. Blurred vision
h. Infections such as thrush or irritation of the genitals.
If Diabetes Mellitus Type 1 is not treated at this stage, the body begins to produce chemicals called ketones that build up in the blood and cause additional symptoms such as:
a. Vomiting
b. Abdominal pain,
c. Rapid breathing,
d. Increased pulse rate
e. Sleepiness
The treatment for Diabetes Mellitus Type 1 can only be done with insulin.
