Diabetic Retinopathy

Diabetic retinopathy is a complication of diabetes problem which have to be anticipated. Diabetic retinopathy are caused by weakened of blood vessels  in the retina and damage by high glucose levels in the blood. At the time of weakened blood vessels, it was clogged and cause swelling in the eye and then the eye sight becomes blurred.

Even then new blood vessels begin to form, new blood vessels are very weak, so easily broken and may cause blood to seep into the vitreous (the fluid that fills the back of the eye). Blood seepage is going to block the incoming light that could reach the retina. If the conditions of retinopathy gets worse if not taken care of properly , moreover it can lead to blindness due to the formation of scar tissue that pull the retina away from the back of the eye.
 

Diabetes Mellitus Type 1

Diabetes Mellitus Type 1, also called juvenile diabetes. Type of diabetes is caused by a lack of insulin. And  lack of insulin is caused by damage to the pancreatic beta cells.This type of diabetes usually occurs in adolescents under 25 years old, but it can also happen to people who have grown up.
Beta cell damage caused by several factors, among others:
a.   Genetic factors.
b.   Environmental factors
c.   Auto-immunity factors.

Pregnancy Diabetes (Gestational Diabetes)

Pregnancy diabetes (gestational diabetes) is a form of diabetes experienced by pregnant women. As much as 3 percent of pregnant women known to suffer from this disease despite having no previous history of diabetes.

Dr. Tan Ay Eeng, Gynecology & Gynecology Specialists of Prince Court Medical Center, said that pregnancy diabetes (gestational diabetes)  is typically obtained in the second trimester of pregnancy and will recover after the baby is born. Although the sweet food is not the main cause of this type of diabetes, pregnant women should be thinking of doing a healthy diet and activity during the pregnancy to reduce the risk of this disease.

In general, Tan Ay Eeng explained that, the symptoms of the disease is generally mild and non-threatening, but there is most likely you will experience a listless, thirst, frequent urination, and weight loss despite increased appetite. To be sure, do blood glucose checks.

Diabetes Mellitus

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a type of chronic disease characterized by elevated levels of sugar in the blood as a result of disturbances in the body's metabolic system, where the pancreas unable to produce insulin as the body needs.   Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas that is responsible for controlling the amount of blood sugar levels and insulin needs to change (processed) carbohydrates, fats, and proteins into energy for the human body. Function of the hormone insulin to decrease the  blood sugar levels.
